SPRING 2008 TRAINING
SCHEDULE
Interested in starting a Safe Routes to
School program at your school? Attending a
training session is the place to begin!
All attendees will receive:
-
The Safe
Routes to School Handbook, an
easy-to-use guide that explains how to
start and sustain a Safe Routes to
School program. Attendees representing a
registered
elementary or middle school or a
qualified non-profit will receive a
hardbound copy (one per school/agency).
All other attendees will receive an
electronic version of the Handbook.
-
A CD containing templates of flyers,
letters, surveys, press releases and
more that can be customized and used to
promote and evaluate your program.
-
Hands-on experience in using the
Handbook, including effective strategies
for team building, data collection,
conducting walking audits and developing
Action Plans.
-
Information on funding sources available
to Safe Routes to School programs.
-
On-going support from the Governor's
Council on Physical Fitness, Health and
Sports/Michigan Fitness Foundation and its
network of transportation, health, and
safety officials and educators.
-
Lunch, refreshments and all training
materials.
There is no charge to attend, but space
is limited and pre-enrollment is required.
Call 1-800-434-8642 or e-mail Andrea
Cawthray at
acawthray@michiganfitness.org to
enroll.
