Walk
to School Day in Michigan
Henry David Thoreau said, "An early
morning walk is a blessing for the
whole day." On Wednesday, October
7,
2009, hundreds of
Michigan schoolchildren will be
joined by parents and other
community members and start their
day with an early morning walk to
school. Walk to School Day is an
international event sponsored by the
Governor's Council on Physical
Fitness, Health and Sports, Michigan
Department of Community Health, and
the Michigan Department of
Transportation.
